This project is funded under an agreement with the Tennessee Department of Health.

Basic Steps in TNPAP Services

  1. Initial contact with TNPAP Intake Coordinator.

  2. Evaluation/assessment by qualified professional whose license is in good standing with the regulatory board.

  3. Evaluator provides TNPAP with recommended treatment plan.

  4. Participant attends a one-day orientation at which a TNPAP monitoring agreement is signed.

  5. TNPAP refers and/or assists participant in selecting appropriate treatment center.

  6. TNPAP provides support throughout the period of treatment.

  7. Treatment facility staff and evaluator develop aftercare plan.

  8. Participant must be deemed safe to return to work as a practitioner by treatment facility, evaluator, and TNPAP staff.

  9. Participant is monitored from 3 to 5 years (or longer, if necessary). Step down monitoring may be available.
