Reporting a Practitioner

The Boards partnering with TnPAP offer two tracks to enroll in the program:

Non-disciplinary

  • The professional has not come to the attention of the Board for violations of their Practice Act or Rules.

  • The professional, employer, colleague, family member, friend, etc. may contact TnPAP requesting assistance.

  • The professional agrees to an evaluation. If recommended by the evaluator the professional agrees to enter treatment and sign a TnPAP monitoring agreement.

  • The professional maintains compliance with all requirements of the 3-5 year monitoring agreement.

  • The professional satisfactorily completes all the requirements of the monitoring agreement.

  • The professional's board receives no information about him/her.

Disciplinary

  • A formal complaint about the professional is filed with the appropriate Board.

  • Following investigation of the compliant, the professional is referred to TnPAP by the Board.

  • The professional either submits for an evaluation and/or enters treatment.

  • The professional satisfactorily completes all the requirements of the monitoring agreement or

  • If the professional does not adhere to all requirements of the monitoring agreement (s)he is dismissed from TnPAP monitoring and the Board notified which may result in Board action to formally revoke the professional's license to practice.
